Book retailer Thalia will open a manga store on February 24 in Leuna’s Nova shopping center. In the future, the pop-up shop will complement the Thalia bookstore in the center and offer a wide variety of manga in 100 square meters of sales space. For the official opening on February 24th and 25th, Thalia invites you to the new Manga Shop with special offers and guests. The duration of the pop-up shop is initially planned for one year.
“The manga theme is going through the roof, we’ve been experiencing a growing demand in this area for years,” says Torsten Reuter, head of Leuna’s Thalia bookstore, describing the interest in Japanese comics; “Our bookstore in Nova. It is already a popular place for manga lovers in the region. With our own manga store, we will create a new meeting point for the larger community in the future.” 2022, where manga and anime fans gathered to dress up as their favorite characters.
“Thanks to the huge success of the first NOVAcon convention in May of last year, we saw the great potential of the manga and comic scene,” says center manager Peter Lenhardt. “The opening of Thalia Manga Shop connects with Nova shopping center. the fields of comics and cosplay and is sure to inspire not only fans of the scene, but also one of the other “newbies” to a versatile and interesting subject. So we are very excited about the launch of Thalia Manga Shop.”
On the first floor of the mall, customers can expect in the future a large selection of manga as well as non-book items that match the theme and are exclusive to the region. “We are literally exploding with our manga range,” says Torsten Reuter, describing the range of the new Thalia Manga Shop. In addition, the pop-up shop’s three-person team will regularly invite manga fans to events such as drawing workshops and rallies. Professional cosplayers or manga artist Inga Steinmetz will visit the opening (February 25). On the two opening days, customers visiting the store can appear on the red carpet. the first 50 per day will also receive a €5 voucher.
With pop-up stores like Leina, book retailer Thalia is always trying out new store concepts and developing exciting themed worlds to reach new target groups. Talia also engages in manga-themed campaigns in its bookstores, such as during the nationwide Manga Day campaign.
