Thalia Books GmbH
On February 24th and 25th, Thalia opened a new manga pop-up shop in Leuna with events such as an art workshop, wheel of fortune, rally and photo wall. During the two opening days, many fans of Japanese comics came and in some cases traveled long distances to get a first look at the new store and present their elaborate costumes.
The bookseller now offers a wide variety of manga as well as regional exclusives in a 100 square meter sales area on the first floor of the mall. “We are overwhelmed by the positive response from the community,” says Thorsten Reuter, head of the Thalia bookstore, which is already located at the Nova Location.
Talia continues to operate one floor above the new pop-up shop with an area of about 600 square meters. The bookstore has been a popular destination for manga fans in the area for years, and the mall also launched its own Cosplay convention, NovaCon, last year. “Together we will create a new meeting place for the larger community with Thalia Manga Shop,” says Torsten Reuter. “We will definitely be back,” concluded enthusiastic customers who had traveled to Leuna from large parts of Germany.
In addition to the pop-up shop’s wide range of merchandise, Thalia will be engaging manga fans with regular Leuna events in the future. The term of the new store is initially planned for one year, an extension is not excluded.
